Reducing waste and helping the community
In the UK, people are throwing away £13bn of food each year. That’s 43.0 million tonnes according to Gov.UK. In light of these statistics, we have developed on our Eco Friendly Policies. We donate 90% of our leftover fruit to food banks and charity organisations here at Fruidel.
AdBlue technology fitted on all Fruidel vans
We use AdBlue which is fed into the exhaust of all our vans, reacting with the nitrogen oxide gas produced by the combustion process, breaking it down into harmless nitrogen and oxygen. We are aware that emission levels in cities throughout the UK are at dangerous levels in certain areas.
Biodegradable packaging
Fruidel ensure that all of our brown paper and plastic bags are biodegradable. Cheap plastics are damaging the planet. There are 500 times more pieces of micro-plastic in the sea than there are stars in our galaxy. There will be more plastic than fish in the sea in 2050 by estimation. Fruidel are joining the fight against this catastrophic environmental issue, by being proactive in all areas of the business to keep green, and encourage more eco friendly policies.
Fruit baskets re-used 1000’s of times
Our wicker baskets make a great centre piece to any office. Being hardy and very strong means we can re-use the baskets 1000’s of times, reducing the amount of non-recycled packaging. The delivery team keep Fruidel’s carbon footprint low.
