Nutritional benefits of oranges
Oranges are well known for their vitamin C content which is a powerful antioxidant, helping protect our cells from damage. Just one medium orange will provide the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) of vitamin C for adults. Just one orange counts towards one of your five-a-day. One 150ml glass of unsweetened orange juice also counts as one portion, although the NHS advises that orange juice can still only count once per day, no matter how much you drink.

Since they’re full of soluble fibre, oranges are helpful in lowering cholesterol.

Oranges are full of potassium, an electrolyte mineral responsible for helping the heart function well. When potassium levels get too low, you may develop an abnormal heart rhythm, known as an arrhythmia.
They relieve constipation
Oranges are full of dietary fibre, which stimulates digestive juices and relieves constipation.
They regulate high blood pressure
The flavonoid hesperidin found in oranges helps regulate high blood pressure, and the magnesium in oranges helps maintain blood pressure.
They protect skin
Oranges are full of beta-carotene, which is a powerful antioxidant that protects the cells from damage. Beta-carotene protects the skin from free radicals and helps prevent the signs of aging.
